“The Lord God put humans in the Garden of Eden to take care of it and to look after it.” Genesis 2:15

Who is this guy?

I am delighted that you found your way to my blog. Allow me to tell you a little bit about me. My name is Jonathan Twining, and I am an educator, conservation biologist, herpetologist (reptiles and amphibians), photographer, and videographer. And I am a follower of Jesus. I taught biology and environmental science at Eastern Nazarene College for 22 years, but had to retire early due to some growing health concerns. Besides teaching, I was and continue to be involved in research about frog vocalizations from Costa Rica with my good friend and colleague Dr. John Cossel Jr. from Northwest Nazarene University. In addition to my research, nowadays I find myself working with a group of people from East Africa on a problem that is dear to my heart: the neglected tropical disease of snakebite. I am an advisor to the Upendo Conservation Area, and I am the founder of the Snake Community Action Network, both in Kenya.
